Warner Bros. has found its new Catwoman in actress Zoë Kravitz. The studio signed Kravitz on to play the role in Matt Reeves’ The Batman.
DC Comics and Warner Bros. teamed up to ensure that the role was filled by a person of color. Kravitz comes with an extensive resume. Her projects include Yelling To The Sky, X-Men: First Class, After Earth, Divergent, Dope, Insurgent, Mad Max: Fury Road and Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse.
Kravitz will play opposite Robert Pattinson, who will be Batman. Jonah Hill is rumored to play a villain, while actor Jeffrey Wright will play Commissioner Gordon.
She joins an elite list of actresses that played Selina Kyle, from Halle Berry, Eartha Kitt, Anne Hathaway, Michelle Pfeiffer and Julie Newmar.
Premiering June 25, 2021, production is set to begin next year.
