YouTube and Merchbar are partnering together to form a new option for creators to sell their merchandise to their viewers. Creators with an official artist channel will be able to place a row featuring all of their merchandise right under their YouTube video.
The new feature will enable YouTubers to create a new stream of revenue in addition to that made through subscriptions and advertisements.
The feature comes as YouTube is rolling out a series of revenue generating options that include everything from allowing creators to have premieres to providing tools to build channel memberships.
Merchbar gives artists several options for merchandise partners, including Fanjoy, Rooster Teeth, Crowdmade and Represent.
According to YouTube, participants of their programs have increased their revenue substantially by combining the Merchbar option with memberships and chat sessions. Creators can access the option from YouTube Studio.
