Just off of the hype of the R&B event Brandy Verzuz Monica and gospel extravaganza with Kirk Franklin Verzuz Fred Hammond, the social media based music show announced that Patti LaBelle and Gladys Knight will be going head to head in a friendly competition on the next Verzuz battle.
The “Godmother of Soul” and “Empress of Soul” will be reliving over six decades of timeless music live at the Fillmore in Philadelphia.
Over her career span, LaBelle, 76, has churned out a whopping 18 studio albums, 47 singles and has been nominated for 13 Grammys, winning two of them. Knight, 76, holds 10 studio albums and 18 singles under her belt, along with seven Grammys.
The Verzuz event will take place on Sunday, September 13 at 5 p.m. PT.
