TRUE TO THE GAME 2, starring Vivica A. Fox (Empire), has earned the accolade of having the highest grossing independent film two weeks in a row and landing in the top 10 of highest grossing films over Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The film screened in 281 theaters, averaging $1,032 per screen.
Based on the novel of the same name by bestselling author Teri Woods, TRUE TO THE GAME 2 picks up a year after the murder of drug dealer Quadir Richards, whose death carries consequences for all who knew him — especially Gena (Erica Peeples) his love interest.
Separating herself from Philly’s dangerous scene, Gena has reinvented herself as a journalist, living and working in New York City. Forced to take some time off of work, Gena is sent on assignment to Los Angeles for a career-changing story.
The cast includes a host of big names, including Andra Fuller (The Haves And The Have Nots), Jeremy Meeks (Dutch), Juliet “Juju” Cee (Love And Hip Hop New York), Niatia “Lil Mama” Kirkland (CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story) with cameos from Rotimi (Power), Tamar Braxton (Being Mary Jane), Faith Evans, Waka Flocka, and Bernice Burgos.
Manny Halley produces alongside Rodney Turner II and Yolanda Halley.
