‘Toy Story’ Franchise Serves Us The Origin Story Of Buzz Lightyear In ‘Lightyear’ [Teaser Trailer]

What an unbelievably pleasant surprise! Disney and Pixar “shooketh” Toy Story fans everywhere when it dropped the teaser trailer for Lightyear, the origin story of the space ranger Buzz Lightyear.

Directed by Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 3 animator Angus MacLane, the teaser trailer shows Buzz Lightyear embarking on a mission that sees him traveling to infinity and beyond. It’s perfect timing, considering all the conversations surrounding space travel that has consumed media.

Actor Chris Evans lends his voice to the ambitious adventurer, which was first voiced by Tim Allen in the 1995 film Toy Story.

Pete Docter is executive producer and writer, alongside fellow scribes John Lasseter, Joe Ranft, and Andrew Stanton.

The Toy Story franchise has been a box office success. Worldwide, Toy Story (1995) earned $394 million, Toy Story 2 (1999) accumulated $497 million, and Toy Story 3 (2010) and Toy Story 4 (2019) made the most with a record-breaking $1.067 billion and $1.073 billion in grosses, respectively.

Lightyear is coming to theaters June 2022, and we can’t wait!
