Tommy Eagan will be the star of the show for a second season. Starz recently announced that Power Book IV: Force will be returning to the network with new showrunner Gary Lennon. The rugged character’s planet in the Courtney A. Kemp and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson produced Power universe reported successful ratings with over 3 million viewers tuning in to the crime drama. It wasn’t too long ago when Jackson publicized his feud with the Lionsgate-owned Starz over his frustration with a slow-moving greenlight for the series.
“They renewed High Town and FORCE is the highest rated show they have it sitting in limbo,” Jackson posted on social media. “If I told you how much dumb s— I deal with over here.”
Jackson’s contract with the network ends in the fall. It is uncertain whether the Power franchise will have the opportunity to move to another network or if Starz has license to keep the universe and contractually end their relationship with Jackson. Meanwhile, the Power universe has been highly successful.
The original Power, starring Omari Hardwick as James “Ghost” St. Patrick, lasted for six seasons before going silent in Feb. 2020. Power Book II: Ghost, starring Michael Rainey Jr. as Tariq St. Patrick, was greenlit for a third season receiving a premiere date on Nov. 20, 2022.
Prequel series Power Book III: Raising Kanan, based on the fictional childhood of original character Kanan Stark, received an early renewal for its second season back in the summer of 2021. Joseph Sikora leads Power Book IV: Force, the third spinoff in the Power universe as Eagan leaves New York to start a new life.
Episodes of Power Book IV: Force are available Sundays on Starz.
