Love is in the air. As the holiday season ramps up, many people are feeling romantic vibes and want that special someone waiting for them after the hectic work and shopping days and family dinner nights. Some people are taking their love to the next level.
Tis the season also for engagements. Amber Riley, Gabourey Sidibe, and Tiffany Pollard recently made announcements that they will be marking married on their tax returns in the near future.
Former Glee actress Amber Riley announced her engagement to Instagram hottie Desean Black on the social media platform.
“There was a time when I thought I didn’t want or deserve this kind of love. I’m looking at a man who changed my mind. My time by myself, loving on myself, getting comfortable with myself, prepared me for you, and prepared me for this. I am so proud to say, I am the future Mrs. Black. I love you @deseanblack_official and I thank you for your patience, your friendship, and your partnership! “What God has joined together, let no man separate.””
Black also posted a photo of the couple together.
“Fellas, when a woman looks at you like this, it’s a clear indication that you’re doing the right thing,” Black captioned the post. “Now, when she delivers unconditional love that you’ve never experienced, it’s another clear indication that you’ve found the one. Only a fool would let someone as special as this slip away. So I did what any wise man would do and put a ring 💍 on it. I love you to pieces @msamberpriley, or should I say the future Mrs. Black 😍. #happilyengaged A king will always protect his Queen. #blacklove #engaged”
Riley has been showing off a nicely sized diamond ring on her social media platform since October, but the engagement wasn’t officially announced until recently.
The revelation coincided with another major announcement for the blossoming actress. Riley will be the lead actress and executive producer for the TV musical series Dream, a story about a teen mother who gets her chance to pursue her singing dreams once her son graduates from college.
Another love story that deserves celebration is the recent announcement of former Empire actress Gabourey Sidibe. She posted a quick Instagram video with her longtime beau, Brandon Frankel, showing her diamond ring.
“It’s weird that people think we’re already married but I guess our hearts and intentions for each other are just that clear to see,” Sidibe captioned the post. “My BFF proposed and now I get to hold him forever. The funniest man I’ve ever met. The sweetest human to exist. @brandontour made up a song for when I put my bonnet on at night. The second I look a bit stressed and overwhelmed, he jumps into action to take over what he can for me. Every moment with him is a joy. He is the partner I thought I was too independent to need. I’ve learned so much about myself through him and I feel grateful and excited to learn more about the entire world with him by my side. My partner, my best friend, my cats’ daddy, my mans, my heart, my fiancé!!!”
Frankel also post the video with the caption, “I asked my best friend to marry me, and she said “YES”! So excited to spend the rest of my life with the most amazing, hilarious, beautiful, and inspiring woman I’ve ever known. I couldn’t imagine a life without you.”
In a surprise announcement during VH1’s reunion special I Love New York Reunited aired on Tuesday (Nov. 24), Tiffany Pollard, known as reality TV star New York, revealed that she was 21 days into a new engagement.
“To find love the way I did, I stopped looking for it, and it literally found me, and I’m engaged, just 21 days old,” Pollard told I Love New York Reunited host Vivica A. Fox.
Pollard has yet to reveal the lucky partner she’s set to marry.
It’s already challenging as an unknown person to find someone to love that meets even the basic list of qualifications, such as loyalty, honesty, and chemistry, so for these women with big platforms to find love is not only inspiring to all the single people who are looking for love, but it also resonates with women of power that they, too, can have it all. Congratulations, ladies!
