Tinashe Makes Rare Social Media Appearance “I’m Back And I’m Better”

It’s been a while since we’ve seen R&B artist Tinashe on the music scene. Her last album Joyride was released by RCA in April 2018. Billboard 100 charted the album at no. 58 and no. 8 on the R&B charts.

She stays active on Twitter. In August, she posted, “Last night I was having so much fun at the club, dancing, getting lit…and my girl turns to me and says “I can see in your eyes you’re sad” and I wonder how many other people notice.”

Tinashe recently made an appearance at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Sept. 14th, but really didn’t speak out until she went on social media Saturday, Sept. 28th.

“I know that I’ve been quiet for a minute, I know I’ve been in my cave working,” the ‘2 On’ singer said. “Throughout the last year, I’ve been going through a lot of changes and creatively, I just feel like I needed to go through what I went through in order to be the person I am today. To get back to my roots.”

The last year has been challenging for the young star who ended her business relationship with RCA records following the release of her third studio album.

She voiced her frustration about the machine, “Fuck the system. Fuck anybody that tries to put you in a box.”

In her social media post, Tinashe did not expound on whether she will be releasing any new material. However, she left a cryptic message saying “I’m back and I’m better” with a broken heart and a whole heart.

Sometimes you have to step away from the very thing that you love to stop the pain.
