Three Brothers Launch First Festival ‘My Mixtapez: Most Wanted’ From Popular App, Megan Thee Stallion To Headline

My Mixtapez is kicking off their first ever festival My Mixtapez: Most Wanted on Friday, Dec. 13th in Dallas, TX. Megan Thee Stallion will be headlining the event, which will take place at The Bomb Factory.

Other artists will include Moneybagg Yo, Boosie Badazz, Mike Will Made It, Polo G, NoCap and Black Fortune. An anonymous special guest is scheduled to take the stage, as well.

My Mixtapez is the No. 1 music app for mixtapes. The app also provides interviews and news in the Hip Hop world. Users can also stream and share the latest music updates, while rappers can submit their music for consideration.

One unique feature of the app for artists is that it requires the listeners to share the music on their social media in order to listen to the mixtape.

The Dueñas brothers, which includes Juan Carlos, Danny and Ricky, founded the app in 2011.

“When we launched the app in 2011, we were just a bunch of kids who loved hip-hop and wanted an easier way to listen to mixtapes on our phones,” Miami native and co-creator Danny Dueñas told Billboard. “The success we’ve had with it shows that technology knows no race. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from. If you believe in yourself, you can overcome any obstacle.”

The brothers have seen the brand grow with over 100 million downloads becoming the most downloaded Hip Hop app on iPhones and androids.

There was a period of time when the brothers were looking for people to help and invest, but with no one open to the idea, the brothers had to make the decision to pursue their innovation on their own.

“We’re proud of being the underdog and being able to do what people said we couldn’t do, and doing it without any funding or any help,” the brothers told the Miami New Times back in 2015. “Just having a dream and putting it in the works.”

Now, success is sweet with one of the biggest female rappers headlining their first event.

Ticket prices for the fest range from $50 for general admission to $99.50 for balcony and can be purchased at www.axs.com.
