Thought Crimez Podcast Claims David Banner Stole Their Show Style

If they’re dope, it’s not rare for trendsetters from small subcultures of the world to be a victim of bigger talent stealing their style or ideas at some point of their existence.

It’s sort of a validation that they’re on the right path. But, it still hurts. Especially if credit, in the form of a shoutout or a job, is not given.

Hosted by couple Prince and Sincere, Thought Crimez covers trending topics and hip hop culture. The hip hop podcast claimed that Mississippi rapper David Banner allegedly stole their show design and concept.

On March 23rd, Thought Crimez posted an audio on YouTube discussing their disdain for the “Cadillac On 22’s” rapper.

“He trying to hijack our color scheme, our illustration style, animation, trying to be funny, soundboard,” said Sincere. “You can’t make this sh-t up. It’s so pathetic. Some of these celebrities are so wack and non-creative that they got to steal from a black couple that’s 10, 15, 20 years younger than them and try to steal what we do and bring it over there.”

Thought Crimez explained why they thought that Banner was a hypocrite for appearing to empathize with actress and comedian Mo’Nique about being treated unfairly by the entertainment industry while he seems to be a part of the problem.

People who attended the live YouTube chat had a lot to say about the allegations.

“Everybody copy from everybody. It’s the internet. Sh– don’t stay original for long. Switch up,” said viewer with the username Nkosi Strain Bullies.

“It’s sad. He should show love to both of your hardwork,” said another viewer Detreyus Betts.

“There is no one like you two. It’s impossible to imitate greatness, you can only cultivate your own,” said Pretty Soldier.

“It’s about to be a corporate takeover. They see the pull regular people have over celebs. Protect your IP,” advised Paye Homage.

Banner has yet to address the allegations. The story is developing.
