The Weeknd Reaches Another Echelon Of Musical Genius With ‘After Hours’

The Weeknd graces music lovers stuck inside their homes with his latest project After Hours.

The superstar singer dropped a 14-track project late on Thursday night, teasing fans with several Twitter messages counting down to the album release.

The 56-minute project has absolutely no features. Purely agonizing, but more than sonically satisfying simultaneously, The Weeknd reaches another echelon in his musical range. Yes, that’s a compliment. The MouthSoap loves music that makes you feel.

The production is on point, his singing is his signature style. The album is perfect for lit candles, a game of Vegas Monopoly (does that exist because that would be fun to buy the different casinos, hotels and hotspots…if Hasbro picks up this idea, please give the MouthSoap a shout out!) and some good wine (Moscato with peach orange juice please).

The MouthSoap gives After Hours a tenacious 10 out of 10 for not relying too heavily on features, having great production and The Weeknd being so very vulnerable with the theme of his music.

He is relentless going in on the surgically assembled women in the Hollywood part of Los Angeles on “Escape From LA”. Then, he tells the painstaking truth about being a heartless man on “Heartless”, a song we think would be great for a remix with rap artist Future.

From his guilt-filled escapade with love and his endless search for something more meaningful in life, The Weeknd is anything but shallow on After Hours.

Our favorites include “Snowchild”, “Escape From LA”, “Heartless”, “Blinding Lights”, and the entire album, actually.
