Did you see the Verzuz battle between R&B singers Ashanti and Keyshia Cole? The virtual music event went down on Thursday night to an audience of 1.1 million fans. Both ladies arrived looking their Sunday’s best and giving life to all the ladies and gents. Song for song, Ashanti and Keyshia Cole kept a steady pace playing hit after hit.
Of course, the fans picked the event apart. Some of the comments of the night involved Keyshia being late to the Instagram event, her DJ over scratching records, and a sliding camera. Others also noticed Ashanti taking a call and talking to others in the room during one of Keyshia’s songs — doesn’t have anything to do with the music, but people love to make something out of nothing. There were also some sound issues, but not even these subtle distractions could detract from the beautiful ladies and their great discographies.
By the end of the night, fans overwhelmingly gave Ashanti the win resolving that the order of Keyshia’s songs were not appropriately placed to battle with Ashanti’s radio hits. See the battle for yourself below:
