Angelica Nwandu, the founder of the celebrity news website The Shade Room, is set to write a new horror comedy titled Juju. The Sundance and Time Warner HBO Fellow will be teaming up with Insecure director Thembi Banks, who will be making her feature film directorial debut.
Hollywood power players Issa Rae (Insecure) and La La Anthony (Power) join onboard as executive producers, although there is no official word if the two actresses will be in the pic. Rae’s business partner and Insecure producer Deniese Davis also joins as producer.
Details on attached actors and the storyline of the film have yet to be released. Production and distribution will be handled through Universal Pictures.
