The MouthSoap has an affinity for sisters. Whether it be Phylicia Rashad and Debbie Allen, Venus and Serena, Beyoncé and Solange, Tia and Tamera, or Chloe and Halle, there’s nothing like having a built-in best friend to hold your hand through this journey called life.
Sister duo Ceraadi, made up of singer Emaza Gibson and rapper Saiyr Gibson, are on their way to becoming one of those legendary sisters we hold in such high esteem.
Just last year, the Gibson sisters from Cedar Rapids signed with Roc Nation after building an eye-catching social media following and breaking four music singles on the Internet. Now, the ladies who started with daily vlogs and coordinated TikTok dances are on the fast-track to fame.
In 2019, they released their EP Ceraadi’s Playlist and a series of singles, including 2019’s “Dumbstruck,” and 2020’s “Secure The Bag” and “BFF.” The dynamic duo also dropped official music videos for “She Ain’t Me” featuring social media heartthrob DDG, “Favorite,” and “BFF” from their 2020 album #GRWM.
The sisters have come a long way from sharing motels with their mother nearly 10 years ago. Their bubbly tenacity to bring light in a world darkened by politics and pandemics is more the reason that music lovers should tap in.
“Ceraadi is your sister, your best friend, your dream girlfriend, your stylist, your therapist, and all of that,” the sisters said. “We’re starting a movement based on loving yourself, being confident, and being who you are. We want to empower as many people as possible and make timeless music. We’re going to be doing music for a long time together.”
