That Time When Harlem Rapper Vado Was Dating ‘The Breakfast Club’s’ Angela Yee

Vado has been in the headlines as of late for having a physical confrontation with Tahiry Jose on the WeTV show Marriage Bootcamp: Hip Hop Edition. The Harlem rap artist was seen aggressively putting his hands on the model in a clip that many felt was scripted for publicity.

Interestingly enough, several fans know Vado not only for his music, but also for that time in history when he dated the beautiful Power 105.1 Breakfast Club host Angela Yee.

One of the first times we saw a potential budding relationship between Yee and Vado was on a 2011 spoof show of VH1’s What Chilli Wants where Yee went speed dating. Vado was among the candidates of men and the two seemed very comfortable with each other.

Later, photos would surface online of the lovebirds. Although speculated, the relationship was not officially confirmed to fans until a few years later.

In a since deleted video, Vado would go on to The Breakfast Club and interview with his former flame where they revealed some issues with the relationship. Media speculated that the breakup between the two was due to alleged infidelity, but that report was not confirmed.

With the latest news of Vado losing his temper and putting his hands on Tahiry, some social media circles pondered whether Angela Yee had any experience with violence while dating him. No word of that. But recently, Angela Yee did speak on the incident between Vado and Tahiry during her Rumor Report on July 30.

“You can’t make excuses when something like that happens, regardless of if you were provoked or what happened, there’s no excuse for getting up and grabbing a woman — a woman like that or putting your hands on her,” Angela Yee said.

Tahiry did release a statement about the incident after the clip went viral.

“First let me say that I’m devastated that this will be shown for the world to see, but I fully understand that I have chosen to live my life (good…bad…and ugly) in front of the camera,” Tahiry said.

Is it safe to say that Angela Yee dodged a bullet? Or did Vado just catch one?
