Disneyland Paris is under scrutiny after a video of a ruined marriage proposal went viral. Originally posted to Reddit, the video shows a man bending on one knee and presenting a ring to his partner on a platform perfectly positioned in front of the Sleeping Beauty Castle.
Out of nowhere, an employee runs onto the platform and dashes between the couple as he swipes the ring box out of the man’s hand. He then directs the confused couple down some stairs as perplexed park attendees look on.
The viral video has received 85,000 upvotes on Reddit, where the caption states, “POS destroyed my best friend’s moment. He asked for permission beforehand.”
Disney has since responded to the debacle, according to Newsweek.
“We regret how this was handled,” a Disney spokesperson said. “We have apologized to the couple involved and offered to make it right.”
