We know her for her iconic roles in Hidden Figures, Think Like A Man, and Baby Boy. Now, Henson is set to host the 2021 BET Awards, according to an announcement made by the network early on Monday.
“Returning live, this year’s show will be unlike anything we have ever seen before, and I am honored to be sharing the stage with so many powerful and prolific women in music and entertainment,” Henson said. “The BET Awards will once again be at the forefront of Black culture.”
Using the theme “Year of the Black Woman,” BET will be honoring Queen Latifah with an overdue Lifetime Achievement Award. This is not the first time that Henson has hosted. She hosted the American Music Awards to great fanfare in 2020 and Black Girls Rock! 2017.
The BET Awards will air from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles June 27 at 8 PM EST on BET.
