Lately, Summer Walker’s life could be the content sustenance for a bonafide dramatic film, but instead the mother of one has most likely channeled all of her trials, tribulations, and triumphs into her upcoming sophomore album. The “Comethru” artist went on Instagram and made the announcement that she will be releasing her highly anticipated second studio album in November.
“I was super excited to go the BET Hip Hop Awards today, but they wouldn’t let me in due to Covid restrictions,” said Walker in the Instagram video. “I had such a pretty dress and everything — but it’s fine. BET love me, I still love BET. I was gonna talk about some stuff on the red carpet, so I decided to pull up anyway and let you guys know some things.”
Walker then revealed a video billboard of an announcement in hot pink that read “Summer Walker album #2 coming November.” She captioned the post saying that additional details on the album will be revealed on the two-year anniversary of her debut album Over It, produced by London on da Track, released by Interscope on Oct. 4, 2019.
Shortly after the post, Walker shared a photo of a Saint Jewels blinged out hard drive with marked tape that read “Album #2.” She also shared a link to an Instagram created specifically for the hard drive, where she says the contents of her second album live. The Instagram profile will keep fans in the know with regular updates.
In the last few months, Walker has hinted at collaborations with SZA, Sean Garrett, Pharrell, Ari Lennox, and more.
