Amazon and Academy Award winner Sir Steve McQueen (12 Years A Slave) joined together for Small Axe, a collection of five original films rooted in stories from London’s West Indian community.
The collection consists of films Mangrove, Lovers Rock, Red, White And Blue, Alex Wheatle, and Education. A new film from the Small Axe collection will be released every Friday until Dec. 18.
On Tuesday, a trailer for Red, White And Blue, starring John Boyega (Star Wars), was released showing the actor in the role of a policeman conflicted between his loyalty to his family and his desire to serve his country. The film will debut on Dec. 4.
Mangrove, starring Letitia Wright (Black Panther), is already available on Amazon Prime.
