Steph And Ayesha Curry Working To Donate Meals To Those Affected By Oakland School Closures

NBA player Steph Curry and his wife, Ayesha Curry, are working with the Oakland Unified School District and the Alameda County Community Food Bank to provide more than one million meals to children who depend on school meals.

The Curry family made a contribution through their foundation Eat Learn Play. They are hoping people will join in by donating, as well.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, schools have closed indefinitely to mitigate the risk of the coronavirus spreading. The donations will benefit over 18,000 students who are currently out of school in the district.

A statement from the Curry family on the food bank’s website reads:

“Communities relying on Food Banks will be among the hardest hit as we struggle with COVID-19, including children who depend on school meals. We’ve made a contribution to ACCFB through our Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation. Please join our team and help us provide more than 1 million meals to ensure that no child in our area worries where their next meal comes from while schools are closed.”
