SpaceGhostPurrp and ASAP Rocky have a tumultuous history that goes way back. The producer and rapper fell out years ago after the parties involved had a public back-and-forth spat over stolen lyrics and swag, among other petty things.
Now, years later, SpaceGhostPurpp is speaking out on what he deems to be the real reason why he was exiled from ASAP association.
On his now suspended Twitter account, the rapper alleges that ASAP Rocky was sharing an intimate moment with another man in a pool.
“I’m tired of holding my tongue back In 2011 I was invited to dis party in New York by Asap Rocky I was pullin up wit my girl n shit and I was on da phone like yo bruh where u at I don’t see he was like ‘YO LOOK DOWN IM RIGHT HERE’ Next thing u know he in da pool rubbin a mans ass,” SpaceGhostPurpp posted.
While most fans dismissed the post, it obviously made enough of a fuss to cause the producer’s account to be suspended. But, that was after many blog sites captured the tweet and coinciding photo.
SpaceGhostPurpp continued, “SO IF U WANNA KNOW WHY ‘ASAP ROCKY AND ASAP and EVERY RAPPER’ HATE ME so much it’s because I stopped hangin wit him because he did’nt tell me dat he was homosecual on da low and I felt like he lied bout his life so n order for him 2 keep his secret, he got me black listed in music.”
SpaceGhostPurpp made headway with his critically acclaimed album BLVCKLVND RVDIX 66.6. Heavily influenced by Houston’s rap scene, the producer rapper has said that he is responsible for ASAP Rocky’s whole persona, from the fashion to the codeine-inspired lyrics.
In past interviews, ASAP Rocky has responded saying that his career was already rising when he met SpaceGhostPurpp.
“I’ma keep it a buck bro. SpaceGhostPurrp and Ty Beats taught me how to produce in 2011. They taught me how to make beats. That’s the first nigga that taught me how to make beats. This is facts, I’ll admit this on camera. But the thing is he came and told niggas he taught me how to rap, he taught me how to dress, he taught me how to swag. And I’m like, ‘Bro I ain’t meet you until I was lit. ‘Peso,’ I met you after that video came out physically. “
He continued, “You lived with us for six months bro. Don’t make it seem like some shit it’s not bro.‘ That’s my thing like, I can never talk about this because I’m blowing up and if I talk about it I’ll put more light on this. Obviously time prevails. If he made me, make another you, make another me. None of his niggas fuck with him in the crew because they realized he was manipulating them and doing all this other shit.”
The smoke between these two is to be continued, but one thing is for sure is that no one’s sexuality is our business unless it’s harming someone.
However, it’s important that rappers forge more truthful existences in their daily lives and music for the millions of fans that listen and look up to them everyday.
