Shoreline Mafia’s Mac P Dawg Killed In L.A.

Sad news in the hip hop world as it is being reported that Shoreline Mafia affiliate Mac P Dawg was murdered in Los Angeles on Monday.

The 24-year-old rapper was shot and killed late on April 6, according to several online reports. Official confirmation from the Los Angeles Police Department has yet to be released at the time of press. However, the group’s label Atlantic Records, along with No Jumper’s Adam22, confirmed the death on social media.

Proceeding the news of Mac P Dawg’s tragic passing, Shoreline Mafia rapper Fenix Flexin announced that he would be leaving the group to pursue a solo career.

“Got nun but love for my niggas Nd what we’ve accomplished but this new album will be my last with shoreline as a group. Moving forward w my individual career Nd visions for myself Nd where I wanna be!!”

The sequence of events occurred on the heels of Mac P Dawg dropping a music video on Friday for “Salt Shaker”, a collab with Doley Barnays. He also released a visual in March for his song “Same Kid” featuring rapper Bayline.

Shoreline Mafia was first started by friends Ohgeesy and Fenix Flexin in 2012. By 2016, the West Coast rap group would expand to include members Rob Vicious and Master Kato. Their first mixtape ShoreLineDoThstShit dropped in November 2017, followed by the 2018 EP Party Pack and 2019’s Party Pack Vol. 2. In 2018, the LA-based group signed to Atlantic Records.

Mac P Dawg, who met both Fenix Flexin and Ohgeesy at his job at iPic Theatres, collaborated with Fenix Flexin on “HALF N HALF” and with Ohgeesy on “Let Me Know”, among several other songs. He was also on the OTX Tour.

The East Hollywood raised rapper left his fans with these last words on social media while enduring the stay-at-home order as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

“Make the best outta everything during times like these,” he posted on Twitter. “Be real to yo self before you real to anybody else on god.”

The story is developing.
