Super Bowl half time will be lit for Super Bowl LIV. The NFL announced on Thursday that music superstars Jennifer Lopez and Shakira will be the headlines next year. Sponsored by Pepsi, the halftime show is being put together by the NFL and Roc Nation, Jay-Z’s entertainment agency.
During a break in Thursday’s game between the Green Bay Packers and the Philadelphia Eagles, the two singers sat down for a conversation.
“I love that the Super Bowl has two women performing this year. That they have two Latinos performing this year,” Lopez said. “It’s the marker of a new time, not just for the NFL but for this country. It sends an important message. At the end of the day, it’s about making a statement of love and unity and making everybody come together just for a moment, and hopefully that resonates for a long time.”
Lopez recently celebrated the success of her movie Hustlers, which opened to a $33M box office and has made $77M worldwide.
Shakira is a grammy-winning artist that has successfully translated her success from her country Colombia to the U.S.
