There was a shooting reported outside of the White House on Monday and it interrupted Donald Trump’s press briefing.
Trump was midway through a sentence at a press conference when a Secret Service agent interrupted him and took him out of the press room. He would eventually return to the press room and notify reporters that there was a shooting outside of the White House.
“There was an actual shooting and somebody’s been taken to the hospital,” said Trump.
Apparently, law enforcement had shot a suspect near the White House, but it was not on the property.
“It’s unfortunate that this is the world but the world has always been a dangerous place. It’s not something that’s unique,” Trump said.
Oddly enough, the incident occurred right when Trump was trying to update the press on the state of the stock market.
