Stacey Dash is turning over a new leaf in 2022. The once “canceled” political pundit who was best known for her role in the poppy cult classic Clueless is the star of new reality show A New Thing – with Stacey Dash. The Content Farm produced series will follow Dash as she transforms into an interior designer and relocates to New Hampshire for a position at Debbe Daley Designs.
The news of Dash’s new series comes on the tail-end of Dash joining the cast of the BET reboot College Hill, a docuseries following real-life college students at HBCUs. The reboot will kick off with celebrities in what has been deemed College Hill: Celebrity Edition, starring the likes of The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s NeNe Leakes, Love & Hip Hop Hollywood’s Ray J, old school rapper Slim Thug, and more.
Dash, 52, had received a lot of backlash when she revealed she was a conservative who supported Donald Trump’s presidency. She doubled down on her beliefs as a Fox News correspondent. Among her political assertions was a call to end Black History Month and later, support of a neo-Naxi rally. Life would get a little rocky for Dash — Fox fired her and she was arrested for domestic violence, which ended in divorce.
Shedding her old persona, Dash has publicly apologized for statements that she’s made in the past and has vowed to leave politics alone.
“There are things that I am sorry for,” Dash said in an interview with DailyMailTV. “Things that I did say, that I should not have said them the way I said them. They were very arrogant and prideful and angry. And that’s who Stacey was, but that’s not who Stacey is now. Stacey’s someone who has compassion, empathy.”
Dash continued, “God has forgiven me, how dare I not forgive someone else. I don’t want to be judged, so how dare I judge anyone else. So if anyone has ever felt that way about me, like I’ve judged, that I apologize for because that’s not who I am.”
The release date for A New Thing — with Stacey Dash has not been announced.
