Roddy Ricch’s “The Box” is making significant gains on the Billboard charts through streaming clicks. The single reached No. 1 on the Hot Rap Songs and the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts.
The song moved up 10 slots to reach No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. There were over 42 million clicks on the song, causing “The Box” to jump from No. 6 to No. 1 on the Streaming Songs chart.
The single sold 6,000 digital songs for the week of Jan. 2, peaking at No. 8 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Songs Sales charts.
The project itself, Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial, entered the No. 1 spot upon its release but after three weeks fell back. Then, it gained one spot over Post Malone’s Hollywood’s Bleeding to land at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, only being beat out from the No. 1 spot by the JACKBOYS project.
“The Box” was written by songwriters Roddy Ricch and Sam Gloade. 30Roc produced the hypnotic beat that people can’t seem to get out of their heads.
Roddy Ricch released Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial on Dec. 6, 2019. Originally, “The Box” was not an official single, but fans forced it to be after they continuously purchased, streamed and requested the song. Roddy is signed to Atlantic Records.
