West Coast rapper Roddy Ricch’s highly anticipated debut album, which includes singles “Start Wit Me” featuring Gunna and “Big Stepper”, will be released December 6th.
The “Every Season” rapper signed a partnership deal with Atlantic Records ahead of the release of his debut album Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial. Ricch announced the name of his album on radio and via Instagram in August.
In the summer, Ricch signed an exclusive global deal with Kobalt. The music services company will manage Ricch’s catalog, publishing, neighboring rights and creative services.
Ricch, 21, is currently getting massive radio play for “Ballin'”, a collaboration with DJ Mustard in which Ricch is featured. His hard-hitting, melodic voice appears to make any song a hit as seen on Nipsey Hussle’s “Racks In The Middle” and his 2018 hit “Die Young” from Feed tha Streets II.
Born Rodrick Wayne Moore Jr., Ricch has roots in the south with time spent in Atlanta and family from Louisiana. While he spent most of his life in Compton, his music sounds heavily influenced by the south.
The Compton native recently purchased a house in Atlanta. Ricch talked about how the Atlanta music scene is totally different from LA’s, where LA radio stations tend to stick to certain mainstream artists, neglecting their own bubbling music circuit.
“I always catch a good vibe,” he said at Atlanta’s Hot 107.9. “I make my best music out here…When I came out here I knew y’all was really from the street sh*t. Atlanta radio is just different from everywhere, especially where I’m from. You know, LA is like LA…They rocking with n***** like Post Malone.”
