Reginae Carter tried to make it work, but sometimes it just isn’t meant to be.
Lil Wayne’s daughter dated rapper YFN Lucci on and off for years. But, the relationship would come to an end in August 2019 after Lucci would attend a cucumber challenge party. Since then, Carter admitted that she will never date another rapper when she went on Instagram Live with her mother’s friend and reality star Shekinah.
“I don’t care how old I get or how young I am, I will never allow no man to post a girl shaking they ass. I don’t care if she shaking it to your music,” she told Shekinah. “It’s a respect thing. Maybe that’s not my crowd, but I would never be cool with no man going to no party with no heck of naked girls shoving cucumbers anywhere. I would never be cool with no man commenting under a female’s picture that’s naked.”
YFN Lucci was lurking on The Shaderoom when he posted, “If yo girl not supporting u how can u get mad if yo man repost girls who is they helping me get money…smell me.”
Yeah, we smell you and it smells like B.S. Does he realize that he’s in trouble if women promoting his music is the only way to get his money? Yes, it could be profitable. But like Cardi B said, be careful. R. Kelly depended on the exploitation of women, as well, to support his career. We all saw that ending.
Even with plenty of examples of women being men’s downfalls when they hurt or exploit them, YFN Lucci doesn’t regret the cucumber challenge party at all. He’ll learn.
He suggested to Fly Guy DC that the age gap may have played a role in the breakup. Really? Lucci is 29 years old, Carter is 21. Yet, he is the one acting like a child.
The whole situation is ironic because her dad is a very famous rapper. With that said, he was able to give her real life advice on what to expect from rappers.
On VH1’s Friends & Family Hustle, Carter revealed what her father told her. “To hear my daddy tell me that Lucci, he loves you probably, but he’s not in love with you because of the actions and the things that he’s doing,” she said.
“The good part about it is that her dad always keeps it real, and lets her know what’s going on,” Carter’s mother Toya Wright told Hollywood Life. “We all try to instill good qualities and teach our kids good values. But of course, as they get older they tend to take their own path and we just pray that they stay true to the good qualities that we instilled within them. And Reginae definitely makes us proud. She’s independent. She’s strong. She’s smart, and she’s not a fool. She was young and in love, and she learned, so that’s a blessing.”

While Carter seems to be over Lucci, she’s moving on to better things. She announced that she is working with the NFL for their virtual fundraiser to aid in the fight against coronavirus.
“So excited to work with the @nfl for a great cause! We are raising money to support Covid-19 relief efforts. Make sure you tune in starting this Thursday!”
Hosted by Rich Eisen and Deion Sanders, Draft-A-Thon Live will be streaming on April 23-25, 2020 on NFL.com, NFL social media and the NFL APP.
