Regina King is not sleeping on her first-look deal with streaming giant Netflix. The actress-turned-director is partnering with Goliath scribe David E. Kelley for a six-episode series based on New York Times Bestseller A Man in Full, authored by Tom Wolfe.
For King, the move comes shortly after the premiere of her film, The Harder They Fall, released in theaters and now available on Netflix.
“All I can say is when David E. Kelley calls, you just say yes,” said King. “I know this partnership will produce something special.”
A Man in Full follows the ego-driven Atlanta real estate developer Charles Croker who is trying to come to terms with being middle-aged and bankrupt, all while navigating treacherous business and personal stakes.

“The powerhouse combination of Regina King and David E. Kelley taking on the biting, still-timely social commentary of Tom Wolfe is simply undeniable,” said Netflix executive Nne Ebong.
King will direct half of the series, while Kelley will pen the script, as well as take on showrunner duties. Reina King, sister to King and co-owner of production hub Royal Ties Production, will executive produce alongside Kelley and Matthew Tinker of David E. Kelley Productions.
