Professional Poker World Loses Susie Q Who Was Found Burned To Death At A Park

The poker player known as Susie ‘Q’ Zhao was found dead at the Pontiac Lake Recreation Area in Michigan, according to police reports. She was 33.

The pro poker player was discovered burned to death at the public park on Monday (July 13). The White Lake Township Police, who believe she died between July 12 and July 13, were able to identify her from her fingerprints.

The investigation is being treated as a homicide. Police and the FBI are working on the case to discover whether Susie Q was targeted because of her ties to the poker world.

“You have to determine whether or not this is a coverup, or this may be some sort of retaliatory incident because of her profession,” Detective Chris Hild of White Lake Township Police said.

Susie Q was a popular poker player who made a name in the World Series of Poker and several poker tournaments. She once won over $73,000 at the 43rd World Series of Poker in Las Vegas back in July 2012. Over her career, she has won a minimum of $224,000. But, her biggest draw for many was her fun personality.

Susie Q had recently moved from her 10-year home in Los Angeles to her hometown Waterford Township on June 9. Her mother was the last person to see her at 5:30 p.m. on July 12.
