Music power couple, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky, were among the celebrities enjoying New York Fashion Week over the weekend. The two were in town to celebrate the release of A$AP Rocky’s new whisky line, Mercer + Prince. For the occasion, Rocky was dripped in custom jewelry, and wearing a Mercer + Prince t-shirt with designer ripped jeans. Rihanna stayed close by his side, rocking diamond necklaces with a sexy black dress.

A$AP Rocky, a pioneer in fashion and hip hop in his own right, became enthralled with the world of whisky, opting to disrupt an otherwise old money industry. Mercer + Prince is an 80-proof, blended Canadian whisky aged no less than four years “in American White Oak barrels and influenced by Japanese Mizunara Oak.” The Harlem rapper intentionally placed the whisky at an affordable price point of $32 in order to reach the masses.
Rihanna, who had her first child with A$AP Rocky back in May 2022, has been making her own business moves. The Barbados entertainer made headlines in the summer when she received the title for being the youngest female to become a self-made billionaire in America, according to Forbes’ America’s Richest Self-Made Women in 2022 list.

The “Diamonds” singer actually made the leap into the billionaire realm in 2021 when her net worth was estimated at $1.7 billion, joining the company of Diane Hendricks ($12.2B), who made her fortune in the roofing industry, Oprah Winfrey ($2.6B), Kim Kardashian ($1.8B), and Sheryl Sandberg of Facebook ($1.6B).
Rihanna’s billionaire status came at the behest of a 50% controlling interest in her beauty empire, Fenty Beauty, valued at an estimated $1.4 billion. The other 50% is owned by Bernard Arnault’s LVMH. Savage x Fenty lingerie comes second in earning ranks for the star, contributing $270 million to Rih Rih’s portfolio. Over the pandemic, brick-and-mortar stores were announced with locations in Houston and Las Vegas, to name a few. Rihanna also recently launched her skincare brand, Fenty Skin.
Ironically, music is the last piece of the money puzzle rounding out Rihanna’s fortune — and may very well be the reason why Rihanna has stepped back from music, with her last album, Anti, dropping in 2016. Instead, the doting mother and fierce business entrepreneur has been focusing on building a standalone brand empire. Smart woman.

Despite Rihanna’s billionaire status, she still is just as humble and gracious as she was in her beginnings. After enjoying a late-night pizza stop in New York City, the Balenciaga wearing beauty icon volunteered her cleaning skills to the restaurant, helping the staff close shop. There’s nothing like being rich and kind.
