Post Malone Bosses Up In eSports World, Takes Equity Stake In Envy Gaming

Post Malone is bossing up on a whole ‘nother level.  At just 25 years old, Post Malone is part owner of one of the “most valuable esports organizations in the world.”

The multi-platinum artist has taken an equity stake in Texas-based esports company Envy Gaming.  The amount of equity has not been disclosed.

“I grew up in Texas and I’ve been gaming my whole life, so this just really felt right,” said Post Malone. “I have always wanted to be a part of bringing gaming into the professional sports world so to be involved with what Envy is doing in my hometown feels like such a perfect fit.”

The announcement was made on social media right before the much anticipated Call of Duty League Championship Weekend, which begins Saturday, August 29.

The deal that was brokered by Post Malone’s label and talent agency, London Entertainment Group, Electric Feel Entertainment and United Talent Agency, was sparked during a conversation between the North Texas rapper and the owner and chief gaming officer Mike Rufail in 2019.

“I first met Post at Posty Fest in Arlington last November,” Rufail said.  “We had a very real chat about his love for video games. He’s a genuine gamer who brings a lot of effort and personality into everything he does. I couldn’t be happier to have him invest and build with us.”

Envy Gaming owns and operates the Dallas Empire team in the Call of Duty League, the Dallas Fuel team in the Overwatch League and Team Envy.  These teams have a roster of top gamers and compete in some of the most competitive esports challenges amongst the best challengers from around the world.

Envy Gaming has quite the reputation. The organization was named the 2016 Esports Team of the Year and is recognized as one of the largest and most winning esports groups in the world.
