Offset And Cardi B Channel John Singleton’s ‘Baby Boy,’ Features Taraji P. Henson In Official Video For “Jealousy”

Hip hop’s newest Bonnie and Clyde, Offset and Cardi B, addresses their detractors in the official music video for “Jealousy,” directed by Offset.

The former Migos member opted to channel director John Singleton’s cult classic film Baby Boy, a coming-of-age story about a 20-year-old Black man navigating fatherhood and complicated relationships in South Central Los Angeles. Taraji P. Henson, who originally starred in the 2001 film with co-star Tyrese Gibson, is featured in the music video.

Offset utilized drone captured B-roll for the colorful visual that appears to have been filmed in South Central L.A. The married couple also shared onscreen acting credit with their real-life children.

Is Cardi B Becoming Feature Queen?

“Jealousy” marks the third single of summer 2023 for Cardi B — her first was a feature on Latto’s “Put It On Da Floor Again,” followed by the FendiDa Rappa collaboration “Point Me 2.” Cardi B joins Rihanna in the most anticipated album releases. The last time she released an album was in 2018 when she earned respect as a rapper and recording artist with Invasion of Privacy.

What Offset Has Been Up To

In the meantime, Offset has appeared on Bulletz Tha Juggernaut’s “Cartier” alongside Meek Mill and is featured on DJ Drama’s I’m Really Like That mixtape. His last studio album, Father of 4, dropped in 2019.
