Nicki Minaj Gives Inspiring Speech And Makes A Major Donation To Trinidad’s St Jude’s Home For Girls

The St Jude’s Home for Girls in Belmont, Trinidad received a delightful surprise when a beautiful Nicki Minaj dropped by to give the girls a talk about self-love, relationships and life challenges.

“We have to love ourselves first before you could be in love with a boy and before you do what they ask you to do, you gotta love yourself first,” said Minaj. “The more you love yourself, is the more they can’t come in and manipulate you.”

Minaj was born in Trinidad and Tobago before moving to New York with her family, later becoming an international superstar. No stranger to trials and tribulation, Minaj had plenty advice about men.

Minaj continued, “One of the things I realize as well is you think for some strange that these boys are so amazing and they’re so this and so that and that you ain’t gonna find nobody else, but you will.”

The rap star made some personal admissions to the young women as she revealed that she too had to live in a home as a result of domestic violence and even hid pregnancy from her mother while she was a teen.

“I want you guys to be encouraged, I want you guys to know that God didn’t promise us a problem-free life, we ain’t never gonna have that. You’re never gonna experience life and feel like you know what, everything is good all the time. But there has to be something inside of you even right now, today, that decides you’re gonna win no matter what; no matter what comes at you, no matter what was already said about you, no matter if you don’t have your parents, no matter if you don’t have family. You have to know and decide today, right now, that you are gonna be one of the ones in this room that wins.”

Minaj hosted a mini-concert spotlighting some of the talented girls in the home. At the end of the genuine discussion, she pledged $25,000 to St Jude’s. She also said that she is considering building a recreational center for the youth in Trinidad.
