Nick Cannon, 38, announced early Wednesday morning that he will be the host of a new daytime talk show. Premiering in 2020, the show will follow The Wendy Williams Show on Fox.
He originally planned on curating a late night talk show. “I still have that vibe of that same energy of being a curator and tastemaker, telling jokes,” Cannon said on People TV’s Reality Check. “But, not straying too far from daytime.”
Cannon is one of the hardest working men in Hollywood. He is currently hosting a show on Power 106 FM in Los Angeles, runs MTV’s Wild ‘N Out and hosts Fox’s The Masked Singer.
The show will focus on everything from politics to pop culture. Cannon released a statement via Deadline:
“I’ve always dreamed of a platform where I can speak to America and discuss pop culture, as well as the topics on everyone’s mind,” he said. “When I had the opportunity to guest host at my good friend Wendy Williams’ show this year, I experienced the energy and excitement of a daytime talk show and instantly knew I found my audience.”
