Every since Netflix released their celebrity-heavy sizzle reel in the summer, consisting of everyone from Jennifer Lopez to Adam Sandler, movie watchers and industry competitors, alike, have been waiting to see what the streamer has in its IP treasure chest.
Over the weekend, Netflix rolled out the official teaser for its sci-fi comedy, They Cloned Tyrone, starring Jamie Foxx, Teyonah Parris, and John Boyega. In the teaser, the power trio is shown uncovering a mysterious government experiment in which people are under heavy surveillance and being cloned. Tony Rettenmaier, the grip crew member-turned-scribe known for co-writing the screenplay for Space Jam: A New Legacy, collaborated with director Juel Taylor (Creed II) for the story.
Foxx, Parris, and Boyega lead a phenomenal cast that includes the legend, David Alan Grier, Keifer Sutherland, Ozark’s Joshua Mikel, and fan-favorite, J. Alphonse Nicholson, best known for his breakthrough role on P-Valley.
The feature is backed by executive producers Poppy Hanks of MACRO, Jack L. Murray, Dana Sano, and Mark R. Wright. Producers include Foxx, Taylor, Macro’s Charles D. King, Stephen “Dr” Love, Kim Roth, and Datari Turner.
They Cloned Tyrone is expected to be available via Netflix on Dec. 30, 2022, just in time for the new year!
