Netflix has some smart folks working their departments. Unlike any conventional major studio in Hollywood that tends to wait for Comic-Con, the streaming service has managed to mark a niche in the world of pop-ups by bringing immersive experiences of its popular films and series directly to viewers’ cities.
Stranger Things is the latest series to get the pop-up treatment. Now available in Los Angeles and New York City, Stranger Things: The Official Store provides fans with an interactive shopping experience that offers exclusive merch and memorabilia, interactive photo ops, and exploratory sections that further delve into the universe of Stranger Things, such as Joyce’s House, the Starcourt Mall, Hawkins Middle’s Snowball Dance, the Russian Lab, and the Upside Down. Patrons can also play video games at the Palace Arcade.
Although the pop-up stores have been open since November, Priority Access can be reserved on the website free of charge throughout January from Sunday through Saturday. The pop-ups will be available for a limited time. Proof of vaccination will not be required. However, face masks are mandatory.
The Los Angeles location stands at the American at Brand in Glendale, CA, while the New York location is at 42nd Street and 7th Avenue.
In the near future, the pop-up experience will be available in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington.
