It boiled the blood of reality television viewers when certain castmates of The Real Housewives of Potomac attempted to cancel Monique Samuels after her infamous fight with Candiace Dillard Bassett. Samuels was crucified at the stake for her emotional response to the latter’s constant taunting and prodding. Dillard Bassett played the victim card very well, leaning on the support of Gizelle Bryant, Robyn Dixon, and Wendy Osefo, and ultimately, Samuels decided that it was best to exit the show.
For a while, it appeared that justice would never be served for those who supported Samuels. But, oh, how sweet it is when the tables turn and the universe lifts that weight. Now, with Samuels out of the picture, Dillard Bassett was left to her own vices and viewers were able to see in the last season of RHOP that her behavior of provoking people was consistent whether or not Samuels was around.
Meanwhile, Samuels was given another opportunity to make a comeback when reality TV monarch, Carlos King, offered her a spot on Love & Marriage: DC. Luckily for the fans, Samuels accepted the offer and made her grand debut on the season 1 premiere on May 15. And it didn’t disappoint.
Samuels appeared alongside her husband, Chris, with two new couples entering the reality television circuit. Ashley Silva, a mother and entrepreneur, is dealing with her husband, Roberto Silva, also known as DJ Quicksilva, being a workaholic while trying to gain his support for her endeavors. Whereas, Erana Tyler celebrates 26 years of marriage with her husband Jamie Tyler, an event promoter who has an embattled relationship with one of his sons.

An added cast member, Winter Williams, introduced herself to the ladies at an event thrown by Samuels. She shared her story of her husband, Kevin Williams, having multiple affairs and eventually having to end the toxic marriage.
So far, the women of L&M:DC seem to be enthusiastically supportive and fairly interesting. With that said, as any Carlos King production can guarantee, there’s sure to be drama down the road.
New episodes of Love & Marriage: DC are available every Saturday on OWN or can be streamed on Hulu or Prime Video.
