The gatekeepers couldn’t hold her down forever. Comedian and award-winning actress Mo’Nique has secured a bag in 2020.
The Oscar winner partnered with Showtime to produce her first stand-up comedy special in the last decade.
The cable network made the announcement on Friday.
The special, Mo’Nique & Friends: Live from Atlanta, will feature up-and-coming comedians, such as Correy Bell, Just Nesh, Prince T-Dub and Tone-X.
Donnell Rawlings will also be on the show filmed at Atlanta’s Variety Playhouse.

It’s a long time coming as Mo’Nique once claimed that she was being blackballed from Hollywood and filed a gender and racial discrimination lawsuit against Netflix.
Mo’Nique was set to release a comedy special through the mega streaming platform but alleged that the company tried to lowball her despite her accolades and extensive resume.
In the last few years, Mo’Nique built a solid social media following on YouTube and Instagram where she gives daily words of wisdom, shares health tips and talks about career and relationships.
Mo’Nique & Friends: Live from Atlanta will be televised Feb. 7 at 10 PM ET on Showtime.
