Molotov Cocktail Sets Protestor’s Feet On Fire As Unrest In Portland Marks 100th Day

With no end in sight, civil unrest continues in Portland, Oregon as the city marks 100 days of protest. On Saturday night, video footage of a demonstration taking place at Ventura Park captured a protestor being hit by a Molotov cocktail that ignited his flammable shoes. Eventually, he would receive aid from people in the crowd, but he would sustain injuries.

“There were hundreds at the beginning,” police said in a statement. “Arrests have been made, yes.”

Police officers suited in riot gear arrested 27 people on Saturday.

The protestors intended on gathering at the park to march to the police department in protest of police brutality and abuse, but the cops ended the protest after they declared it to be a riot and dispersed tear gas into the crowd.

The police said that the gathering was not permitted and protestors were “engaging in tumultuous and violent conduct thereby intentionally or recklessly creating a grave risk of causing public alarm.”

Protests are confirmed to continue throughout the Labor Day weekend and some even speculate will endure until the presidential elections.
