Malcolm “MJ” Harris has long been a beacon of inspiration for many who are in the know. “When I first moved to LA, I wanted to reach the world with my messages, but I couldn’t afford a studio or office to film in, nor could I afford a camera man,” Harris said. “So every week, I would drive up Sunset Blvd to Malibu’s pristine beaches to film my motivational videos.”
The visitations to Malibu would become the inspiration for one-third of the candle line, the California Collection, which includes candles named after different locations in Southern California, such as the Beverly Hills Candle, Malibu Candle, and Palm Springs Candle.

Harris talks about what inspired him to create the Beverly Hills candle.
“When I was a little boy, I dreamed of living in Beverly Hills,” A quote from Harris reads on the website. “I’d watch Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous and Beverly Hills Cop on repeat! This city represented elegance, abundance and carefree living. When I became an adult and was able to move to LA on the far outskirts of Beverly Hills – I didn’t have Beverly Hills money yet – I struggled financially. Rent was high and I felt alone in a new city of strangers. Going to the Beverly Hills high-end boutiques and open houses in Beverly helped inspire me to work harder so that one day I could truly live the Beverly Hills lifestyle.”

“During part of the pandemic, Palm Springs became my “safe place”,” Harris said. “The city provided my “nephew-son” Marco and I a cocoon to socially distance ourselves and adjust to a very different new world. This scent reminds me of living my best life with friends and family, detached from the world and only focused on the people I love.”
The 100% pure soy candles contain natural wood wicks and have been ethically sourced and hand-poured in the USA. They are cruelty-free, vegan, additive-free, non-gmo, and are void of palm wax.
