Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse exceeded the domestic opening of its predecessor Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018), which accumulated $35.4M in its three-day opening weekend. The slow start did not hinder a phenomenal domestic total of $190.2M and a worldwide gross of $384.3M.
The sequel, starring voice actors Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, and Jake Johnson, is already a hit among moviegoers.
Viewers gave the film a 96% audience score while critics graciously stamped the pic with a 95% Rotten Tomato score. The film also landed on IMDB’s 250 top rated movies at the No. 15 spot, keeping company with Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Inception (2010).
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is in movie theaters now.
