Boxing fans have much to look forward to during the days following Thanksgiving. The Triller sponsored 8-round PPV fight between Iron Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. is set to take place this Saturday. Excitement for the event sparked a 100,000-person demand for tickets to the Los Angeles STAPLES Center where the event will be taking place on Nov. 28, along with a record-breaking pre-sale for Pay-Per-View streaming tickets, making the event one of the most anticipated PPV fights of the decade.
“Anyone who is saying this isn’t a real fight, or there won’t be a knockout or winner is now realizing uh oh…this is real,” Ryan Kavanaugh said. “I think people were just in disbelief they were actually going to witness a real Tyson fight. But it is as real as real gets. There will be a winner. Knockouts are allowed. There will be scoring. Betting has been approved.”
Hosted by Emmy-award winner Mario Lopez, multi-song set performers will include rappers DaBaby, Lil Wayne, French Montana, Wiz Khalifa and YG. R&B singer Ne-Yo will perform the National Anthem.
The PPV fight card includes Tyson vs. Jones Jr., Jake Paul vs. Nate Robinson, Badou Jack vs. Blake McKernan, and Viddal Riley vs. Rashad Coulter. Michael Buffer will be the ring announcer of the event. Commentators include UFC Middleweight Champion Israel “The Last Stylebender” Adesanya and Hall of Famer Sugar Ray Leonard.
The event is produced by Tyson’s new sports venture called Legends Only League, which will host a series of comeback fights in the near future, along with Don Mischer Productions (DMP) and Carleen Cappelletti’s Anchor Street Collective.
“There isn’t a person who has watched the Tyson’s training videos on Triller that hasn’t said ‘This guy could actually be heavyweight champion again,” Kavanaugh said.
Media Day and the Weigh-In for the Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr. fight will take place on Friday, Nov. 27, starting at 11 A.M. PST/1 P.M. CST. The PPV event will be live at the Los Angeles STAPLES Center on Saturday, Nov. 28 at 6 P.M. PST/8 P.M. CST.
Tickets to watch the fight are available for purchase at TysonOnTriller.com or through existing cable, satellite and Telco providers.
