Method Man And Mary J Blige Reunite For ‘Power’ Spinoff

Curtis “50 Cent’” Jackson spinoff of popular cable show Power is already making an impact. Starz announced that Wu-Tang Clan rapper Method Man will be joining Queen of Hip Hop Soul Mary J. Blige on the new series Power Book II.

The series will explore some of the lives of Power’s notorious characters.

Method Man will be playing the role of a sharp lawyer, while Blige has a mysterious role as an underworld overseer of the concrete jungle known as New York. Other cast members have yet to be announced.

Courtney Kemp will executive produce the spinoff as she did the original Power.

Method Man and Blige have worked together before, collaborating on the Hip Hop and R&B hit “All I Need”, which sampled Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell’s 1968 duet “You’re All I Need”.

The song won a Grammy for Best Rap Performance By A Duo/Group in 1996.

Production has already started, with filming taking place in New York. Power is televised every Sunday on Starz.
