The season premiere of variety comedy show Saturday Night Live will star H-town rapper Megan Thee Stallion as musical guest. The NBC show will also have comedian Chris Rock as host to kick off its 46th season. This will be the third time that Rock has appeared on the show.
Set to tape on October 3, SNL is expected to have a live studio audience with the assistance of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
“We’ve been getting support from the governor’s office, which is important because the audience is a huge part of it,” Lorne Michaels, the SNL show creator said.
The announcement of Megan Thee Stallion and Chris Rock being on the show is certain to draw unusual viewers who ordinarily wouldn’t tap in, especially with the publicity that Megan has been getting in 2020.
Along with stellar streams for her hit “Savage,” she has released a makeup tutorial for Revlon that garnered 1.7 million views on YouTube, collaborated with Cardi B for “WAP,” and gave a memorable Mad Max inspired performance for the 2020 BET Awards.
