“I don’t have to win. We both just have to lose.” In the newest trailer for Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania, fans are introduced to MCU’s latest antagonist, Kang, who makes an offer that Scott Lang can’t refuse.
The extraordinary Avenger, known as Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), has a heavy burden to bare when he makes a deal with the unfamiliar superpower, played by Jonathan Majors, in exchange for a second chance to redeem the one escaping element of life — time.
Motivated by his desire to reconnect with his daughter, Ant-Man discovers that Kang has the ability to restructure time, manipulating existences within the multiverse through variants. Kang delegates a few stipulations to an unwavering Ant-Man, who ignores the inevitable calamity quickly approaching.
The intensity of the trailer leaves viewers on edge with a more shadowy viewpoint of Ant-Man’s world as it collides with that of the mysterious Kang, despite the superhero enjoying massive success as an adorned celebrity of sorts.
The signature snarky comedy is secondary to the more serious approach that focuses on the deepening emotional scar of Ant-Man not being more accessible to his daughter, all while holding the balance of the multiverse in his hands.
In addition to Rudd and Majors, the cast includes Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, Kathryn Newton as Cassie Lang, William Jackson Harper as Quaz, Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet Van Dyne, Michael Douglas as Dr. Hank Pym, Randall Park as Jimmy Woo, and Bill Murray as Krylar.
Peyton Reed directs the feature written by Jack Kirby and Jeff Loveness.
Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania flies into theaters on Feb. 17, 2023.
