It looks like Hocus Pocus won’t be the only family-friendly, Halloween film thrilling audiences this season.
Introducing Netflix’s father-daughter comedy, The Curse of Bridge Hollow, a cool concept about a teenage girl named Sydney adjusting to her family relocating from Brooklyn to a mysterious small town. When she unwittingly releases an ancient spirit, it wreaks havoc by causing all of the Halloween decorations to come to life.
The screenplay is written by Todd Berger (The Happytime Murders), and Robert Rugan (Alice’s Misadventures in Wonderland), with John R. Morey, a writer of the George Lopez television series, contributing to the story.
Priah Ferguson stars as Sydney, alongside Marlon Wayans, who plays her father, a science teacher cynical about Halloween. The pic is a nice return for Kelly Rowland (Merry Liddle Christmas Wedding), who plays Sydney’s mother. The Destiny’s Child alumna has made quite the impression on film in films such as the classic 2004 romance, The Seat Filler, What Men Want (2019), Hustlers (2019), and Bad Hair (2020).
Adding to the delightful cast are Robb Riggle (American Dad!), Nia Vardalos (My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2), and Lauren Lapku (The Wrong Missy).
