Wouldn’t it be something if we could clone ourselves the moment we knew that our time was about to expire on Earth?
Academy Award winning actor Mahershala Ali explores this possibility in the new film Swan Song, directed and written by Benjamin Cleary. The pic, starring Glenn Close, Naomie Harris, and Awkwafina, follows family man Cameron Turner (Ali) as he tries to shield his family from the reality that he is dying from a terminal illness by cloning himself.
This will be the second time that Ali and Harris has starred in a film together. The two actors were both in the award-winning drama Moonlight released in 2016.
Ali has been busy for the past few years on several television series, such as True Detective, Ramy, and lending his voice as Titan on Invincible. The actor is set to play lead character of Marvel Studios film Blade, which is currently in pre-production.
Harris recently appeared in the Marvel box office hit Venom: Let There Be Carnage as Frances Barrison, also known as Shriek, the alarmingly loud and zany villain and love interest of Venom.
Swan Song is executive produced by Shea Kammer.
Swan Song will be available on Apple TV Dec. 17, 2021. Watch the trailer below:
