‘Lovecraft County’ Actress Wunmi Mosaku Starring In Netflix African Horror Film ‘His House,’ Just In Time For Halloween [Trailer]

The trailer for the horror film His House was released today by Netflix and it looks very interesting. The one-liner reads, “After making a harrowing escape from war-torn South Sudan, a young refugee couple struggle to adjust to their new life in a small English town that has an unspeakable evil lurking beneath the surface.”

The story written by Felicity Evans and Toby Venables is another example of “Non-Fiction Horror,” where true life events are typically intertwined with horror and comedy, giving an expected twist on the plot.

It makes sense that Wunmi Mosaku would be in this film, given the fact that she plays Ruby Baptiste in Lovecraft Country, executive produced by Jordan Peele, who the MouthSoap argues is the “modern-day architect of Non-Fiction Horror film.”

Directed by Remi Weekes, the film stars Ṣọpẹ Dìrísù (Gangs of London), Bradley Banton (Judy), Javier Botet (It Chapter Two), and Matt Smith (Doctor Who).

His House will debut on October 30, just in time for Halloween.
