LeToya Luckett Launches Kin Original Series ‘Leave It To LeToya’ With Premiere Episode Featuring Former Beau Slim Thug

Oh, y’all thought it was over? Now, that just wouldn’t be typical of a Houston Hero. LeToya Luckett is back with a new show called Leave It To LeToya. The Kin Original Series consist of candid talks with the multi-hyphen talent as she delves into various aspects of her personal life.

To kick things off, the premiere episode, “Having A Conversation With My Ex,” featured Luckett’s former beau, Houston rap legend Stayve “Slim Thug” Thomas, now known as Big Slim. The Destiny’s Child alumna dated the rapper for 10 years before they went their separate ways. In the past, Luckett alluded to infidelity as being one of the main reasons for the breakup. But, that didn’t seem to affect the 2022 chemistry between the two Houston natives.

Both of them appeared to be in good spirits as they rehashed the past, covering topics such as how they met and why they like each other to this day. However, it got real when they started discussing why the relationship ended so many years ago.

“We tried to have something very serious at a very young age,” Luckett said. “I met him at 20 [years old]. To my surprise, he was ready to lock in, get married, have a home, kids, all that, in our early twenties. Although his heart was probably ready for something like that. His environment — they didn’t align.”

Unbeknownst to fans, Luckett and Thomas were engaged for a period of time. So, the devastation of the breakup was difficult for both parties.

Luckett continued, “There was heartbreak. There was disappointment. Everybody knew us, especially in Houston. Everybody knew we were together. You wouldn’t see him without seeing me, and that can be attractive to other women, right? Especially young ladies…So, I think he leaned into that a little bit. He definitely enjoyed himself along that journey.”

After the relationship ended, both Luckett and Thomas ended up having children with other partners. Yet, many years later, the two are both single, still attractive, and if a reunion of the relationship is possible, they both could possibly become one of Houston’s most prominent music couples all over again. For now, Luckett and Thomas are playing coy and remaining friends.

New episodes of Leave It To LeToya drop every Tuesday at 10am PST on YouTube and Kin Community.
